Start pilot 'contactless' payment in the Amsterdam ArenA

In cooperation with ABN AMRO and CCV, the Amsterdam ArenA starts a pilot from the 6th of February at Ajax - FC Groningen with 'contactless' payment in designated areas in the stadium. Amsterdam ArenA wants to investigate how we can improve the service to our visitors.

Amsterdam ArenA offers ABN AMRO account holders, in the possession of an Ajax season ticket, the chance to receive a new debit card that is suitable for contactless payment for free. The pilot is only available for visitors on the first tear on the north side of the stadium (from section 112 until 116). Payments in the stadium on the first tear on the north side can be done either with the ArenA-card or with a 'contactless' debit card.

Quick and easy
The new debit card does not need to be inserted in the pos but is simply held against it. For amounts below 25 euro a security code is not required. Payments can be done quickly and easily. Amsterdam ArenA is one of the first locations with this additional pay service in the Netherlands.

Visitors on the first tear north side who are in possession of a ING debit card can participate in the pilot in the course of 2014. For visitors who bank with other banks, there are no possibilities to pay contactless yet. The developments in this regard, however, will explicitly be monitored.
